Host a "Make-a-Blanket" Party!
Invite your neighbors, family & friends.
Start a blanket...
When it's complete, donate it at First Alliance Church.
Together we can bring warmth and comfort to children in need.
The West Bend/Washington County chapter of Project Linus is very excited that First Alliance Church is going to be a blanket donation site! Project Linus began in 1995 and is a 100% non-profit volunteer organization with the purpose of providing a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need through the gift of new, handmade blankets and afghans lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers".
Project Linus accepts blankets of any size and they may be quilted, crocheted, knit or made of fleece. We ask that the fabrics be free from smoke and that you use new materials in child-friendly colors. We have donated blankets to the Salvation Army, Friends of Abused Families, The Kathy Hospice, grief support groups for children, the Youth & Family Project, children who have lost a classmate, children battling cancer and Washington County Social Services.
If you are interested, please check out Project Linus' national website (Project Linus). As you read the thank you letters from parents and children you will be truly inspired. There are also blanket-making patterns and other information to keep you motivated and informed about this wonderful organzation.
